With AZ Dryer Pros, repairing a crushed, split or disconnected dryer vent duct in Arizona starts at $299. The technician finds the damaged section, shows you photos and gives you the exact price before any work starts. Replacing just the hose behind the dryer starts at $149, and a broken outside cap at $149. If you say no to the repair, you only pay for what you approved.
Who fixes dryer vent problems?
A dryer vent company, not an appliance repair shop. The vent is the duct that carries hot, wet air and lint from the dryer to the outside. When it's crushed, torn or comes apart inside a wall or attic, the dryer itself is fine but can't get rid of its air. That's the part we work on. We don't repair dryers.
Signs the vent is damaged, not just dirty
- Lint on the laundry room floor, behind the dryer or in the attic
- A damp or humid laundry room when the dryer runs
- Weak or no airflow at the outside hood, even after a cleaning
- Lint coming out of a wall, ceiling or closet
- Loads still slow after the vent was cleaned
- A burning smell: stop using the dryer and call
What usually goes wrong
Most repairs we see come from a few things. The duct behind the dryer gets crushed when the dryer is pushed back. A joint inside the wall or attic comes apart and the duct blows lint into the space. A long attic run sags between supports and holds lint in the low spots. Or someone used plastic or foil accordion duct in the wall, which tears and is not allowed in concealed spaces.
How we repair it
We read the airflow at the outside hood, then trace the run until we find where the air is lost. Damaged sections are replaced with rigid metal duct. Joints are fitted with the inside end pointing in the direction of airflow and taped with foil tape, with no screws poking into the duct where they would catch lint. Sagging runs get supported. Then the dryer runs and we measure again so you can see the difference.
What affects the price
$299 covers a typical repair of a crushed, split or disconnected section. Access is the big variable: a duct behind a removable panel is quicker than one in a tight attic or above a finished ceiling. If the run is also too long or badly routed, we'll show you the rerouting option and its price, starting at $399, and you choose.
How a visit works
- Tell us the symptom. Lint in the attic, a hot room, slow drying: it helps us bring the right parts.
- Find the leak. We measure airflow and trace the run to the damaged section.
- Price, then repair. Photos and an exact price first. Nothing happens without your OK.
- Re-test. The dryer runs again and the airflow is measured at the outside hood.
